Guyana Development Bank Requirements and Documents to Prepare
A clear list of the currently reported Guyana Development Bank requirements, where uncertainty remains, and how to prepare before final guidance is released.
What are the Guyana Development Bank requirements?
Currently reported preparation items include a business plan, valid identification, business registration or willingness to register, GRA tax compliance with a TIN, and NIS compliance. Other reporting has also identified proof of address, credit checks, and financial statements where applicable.
The bank’s final public application checklist has not yet been released. Treat this as a preparation list, then compare it with the official instructions when applications open.
Documents to start gathering
- Valid identification — National ID, E-ID, or passport.
- Proof of address — A recent document accepted by the bank.
- TIN and GRA records — Your Taxpayer Identification Number and evidence of tax compliance where required.
- NIS records — Proof of compliance where applicable to your circumstances.
- Business registration — Your certificate, or evidence that registration is underway if the final rules allow it.
- Business records — Sales logs, receipts, invoices, bank statements, and expense records.
- Use-of-funds evidence — A clear itemised budget and supplier quotations.
- Business plan — The market, operations, loan request, financial forecast, and repayment case.
What should a new business prepare without historical statements?
A new business can prepare realistic supplier quotations, expected prices, monthly costs, sales assumptions, owner experience, and evidence that potential customers exist. Do not invent past income. Label forecasts as estimates and explain how you arrived at them.
Are these the final official requirements?
No. Final forms, acceptable document formats, credit checks, application steps, and exceptions have not all been published. The official bank instructions will take priority when released.
